Soul Buggin' Podcast Episode 6 - Favourite Duckenfield Joints & Jams
May 22, 2017 11:43 AM PDT
Ahoy there! Soul Buggin' returns to The Lofthouse in Nottingham on 03/06/17 with a big old late night soirée with special guest Chris Duckenfield so what better time then to get inside some choice cuts from the Sheffield legend.
Resident Beane steps up to the plate for episode 6 in our podcast series to present a 76 minute mix of some of his favourite old productions, remixes and edits from 'The Duck' spanning some 20 years. This mix takes in Mr Duckenfield's production work as the mighty duo Swag remixing the likes of Groove Armada and Atjazz through to his splice and dice workouts that continue to rock dancefloors as The Popular People's Front.
**Please note, no sync buttons or bpm counters were harmed in the making of this mix**
We look forward to seeing you in June for our next party

With our Soul Buggin' 12th Birthday party looming large on the horizon (Saturday 19th November at The Lofthouse here in Nottingham) we thought what better time to get inside the record label of 2000 Black which is run by our special guest DJ on the night Dego.
With an extensive back catalogue going back to the late 90's we could've spent hours putting this together but we decided to not get too carried away and only pick 5 records each that give a good flavour of the label. From Dego's work with Kaidi Tatham, Mensah and Matt Lord to killer dancefloor workouts from the likes of Seiji and Domu, hopefully there'll be a few cuts on here that'll tickle you.
Don't forget to grab your tickets for our 12th Birthday here www.tinyurl.com/soulbuggin and we look forward to seeing you on the dancefloor
Peace and love

Rob's now signed to Editorial Records, Masterworks Records and Waxadisc Records and has releases coming out very soon on Editorial and a track on the forthcoming Bag of Tricks Vol 2 on Masterworks.

"Never rub another mans rhubarb" the Joker once told Batman. Well what goes down at Soul Buggin' stays at Soul Buggin'. He needs to get to know or leave the kitchen cos' its time to cook. Open the windows, open the doors, throw the cat in the air like you just don't care - it's time for part two of our residents podcast series to warm you up for our 11th birthday party at The Bodega here in Nottingham on Saturday 26th September. Next up Beane wobbles up to the platters with a 75 minute selection of his usual all over the shop nonsense. Packing in brazilian beats from Aroop Roy, old school boogie given a fresh lick of paint by Louie Vega, classic Maurice Fulton gear, some killer scapel edit action from Jamie Bull and a bit of heads down Carl Craig to name just a few flavours. Slurp up!

The premise is simple - each episode one of the Soul Buggin' residents will go digging through their racks, bags, boxes and wallets to lay down a sweet mix of sounds. Whilst packing the bag ready for warm up duties when Mad Mats joined us, I decided to spin some and went with the flow. We've All Had A Drink Volume 2 - Fire in the hole at the Roller Soul
November 23, 2014 01:16 PM PST
Lace up those roller-skates people because we're all buggering off down the Roller Soul - a strange imaginary roller skating jam that Beane's dreamed up in his head after too many sherbets. For part two of his yearly mixtape series that is dedicated to all things glittery and disco, he's cracked open a bottle of the finest lambrini, took a massive sniff of poppers and hit the floor like there's flipping no tomorrow. 12 tracks, nowt rare or hard to find but some big favourites that are great to get loose to. Many of them have been extended by some fine slicers and dicers for optimum dancefloor impact - from sultry Salsoul Saturday night early doors groovers to big soundtrack strings from Issac Hayes - hopefully this mix will get your juices flowing in the right direction and warm you up nicely for our NYE party next month at The Old Angel (details here >> www.soulbuggin.blogspot.com).
